Independence & freshness
Affiliate links help keep the site running, but they never move a tool up or down our rankings. We re-test tools monthly so scores reflect the current product, not a point-in-time snapshot. When a tool meaningfully changes, its rating changes with it.

Are 9bests reviews independent?

Yes. Rankings are based entirely on hands-on testing and objective criteria. We use affiliate links to support the site (see our Disclosure page), but affiliate relationships never influence ratings or rankings β a tool cannot pay to rank higher.
How often are rankings updated?

We re-test tools and refresh rankings on a rolling, monthly basis. AI tools change fast (new features, pricing, model updates), so our scores reflect the current product, not a snapshot.
What do the ratings mean?

Ratings run from 1 to 5. 5 = best-in-class; 4 = excellent with minor gaps; 3 = solid and capable; 2 = limited or niche; 1 = not recommended. The aggregate rating shown is our editorial score.
